DiversityProjects is an application component of the database framework Diversity Workbench. It might be installed as part of a DWB environment, but also be used as a stand-alone application, e. g., in a local installation. Each DWB module is devoted to a specific data domain.

DiversityProjects is focused on the management of projects, subprojects as well as data collections and data packages/ datasets processed by the other modules of the Diversity Workbench. It is designed to document basic information, labels, descriptions and metadata on the projects and data packages, including data package-specific settings for the data exchange standard compliant publication of data packages. DiversityProjects is managing core information on data package-related publications as well as the (internal) storage of (legal and administrative) documents, e. g., ABS documents, and multimedia resources. Its functionality includes the documentation of the roles of persons and institutions involved in collection and research projects. DiversityProjects addresses the management of project classification and data package hierarchy in relation to sister and umbrella projects as well as the storage of each type of stable identifier related to the data packages. Furthermore, it is managing issues on permits, licenses and web presentation of projects. Data of other realms like, e. g., the management of details on single data units, on agents/ users (persons or institutions) and of details on references are handled in separate modules. For an overview of the available modules see the Diversity Workbench Main Page.
