DiversityTaxonNames is an application component of the database framework Diversity Workbench. It might be installed as part of a DWB environment, but also be used as a stand-alone application, e. g., in a local installation. Each DWB module is devoted to a specific data domain.

DiversityTaxonNames is focused on the management of taxonomic names. Next to information on the taxonomic name it is designed to document the accepted names, synonymy, hierarchy, geography and common names. DiversityTaxonNames keeps only data connected with the handling of taxonomic names. Data of other realms like, e. g., specimens and observations, references, media data are handled in separate modules. For an overview of the available modules see the Diversity Workbench Main Page.
