Introduction and scope
The DWB cloud services at the SNSB IT Center are established for and by the DWB user community. The services are offered via MS virtual server machine and MS SQL server installation as so called TNT services ("Taxon Names and Terms"). They provide read-only access, export and download functions for DWB taxon names (for content see also here), terminologies, gazetteers, sampling plot information, standard GIS information (including point, line and area shapefiles), certain collections of literature references, DiversityDescriptions (DD) descriptor and concept lists (like the MOD-CO standard concept collections) with definitions and hierarchies as well as a MOD-CO use case. The content is available under the creative common licenses "CC-BY" and "CC-BY-SA". Access for read-only and download is for DWB users with DWB Rich Clients installed on their devices. Most of them are persons belonging to the institutions and consortia listed here. The content curation is done by the service providers.
